One of the local desert cottontails was chowing down on my front lawn yesterday, so I talked to it. I said, "Hello Easter Bunny. You know, you can go in my back yard if you like. I won't hurt you." The rabbit scurried off as though saying, "Yeah, right!"
This morning I woke up, opened my blinds that look out into my back yard, and what do I see? That's right, for the first time ever, a rabbit in my back yard!
Of course my attempts to get a digital photo of the rabbit were in vain but I did discover it's passageway into the back yard, through a hole between my fence and my neighbor's house.
Moral of the story: Be careful what you say to animals --- they might be listening!
