Friday Night Lights On Saturday Afternoon

I finally saw Billy Bob Thornton's film about the 1988 Odessa high school football season. Since I graduated from high school in 1987, this era was familiar to me. Growing up in a very football-centric rural town, I'm familiar with the pressures of such a community. However our team never had the kind of community focus or money that was obviously involved down in Odessa. If you haven't seen the film yet, I suggest you strap your bleacher seat cushion under you and enjoy this one.
