Films

This week I watched three films and one documentary: Mystic River, Beyond Borders, I Am Sam, and Hollywood Screen Tests. Mystic River wasn't as dynamic as the hype led me to believe. Beyond Borders was better than the critics claimed, but still not really all that great. Though the cinematography was really something and the Namibian set was amazing, the story was not all that believable. I Am Sam also suffered from believablity syndrome but, as with the other two films, was somewhat heartwarming. The screen tests of actors from the 50s and 60s was interesting but not enthralling. All in all, worthwhile for the tear jerker genre, enough to write home about, but not enough to do backflips.
